Sony Vaio CB Review

Back in the month of February, Sony surprised everyone by rolling out Vaio CA and CB, two very brightly colored laptops. The laptops are designed in a such a way that they radiate light around the edges. Sony Vaio CB sports the latest Core i5 2410M processor and ATi Radeon HD 6630 graphics.

This GPU is powerful enough to handle your video needs, including the ability to stream full 1080p videos to your HDTV or external monitor. Folks at notebookcheck got the black version of it and they absolutely adore its display which packs full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. This makes it one of the best laptops to watch blu-ray content.

The keyboard is said to be great too, but it does seem to have a little bit of flex. For storage, you get 640GB hard disk which is accompanied by 4GB RAM. You can increase it to up to 8GB by swapping the two 2GB sticks with 2x 4GB DDR3 modules. The notebook scored 6150 in the PCMark vantage benchmark test, which is good enough for a multimedia laptop. Vaio CB stayed cool with temperatures hovering between 24-29 degrees under normal use.

Speakers are said to be loud. Battery life is mere 2.5 hours and you will find yourself carrying its power brick almost everywhere you go. Overall it is a great multimedia laptop packing high resolution, high quality display and a powerful processor underneath. [via notebookcheck]
