Toshiba R800 is a mainstream notebook that features a 14 inch display, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 640GB hard disk and integrated graphics. All models and variations of R800 come with USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and touch pads that support multi touch gestures. Certain models also offer WiMax connectivity.
The R835-P50X features Core i3 2310m processor (notebooksnews.com) while the R835-P56X has Core i5 2410m. Since there is no discrete GPU, the R800 is not meant to be used for gaming and after looking its price tag of 900 dollars, you can clearly make out that it is targeted at businessmen and students. The build quality of the notebook is amazing. The finish is matte and the hinges look very strong.
Weighing in at just 1.9 kilo grams, it managed to yield 4.5 hours of runtime which is way off of what the Toshiba claims (8 hours). That said, since the processor is so powerful, we are not complaining. The notebook is made for those who travel a lot and need something more powerful than a netbook like Fujitsu TH40 but not as heavy as Sony Vaio CB notebook.
