Toshiba T551 is a 15.6 inch laptop powered by the second generation Intel Core i series processor. The company also sells a cheaper version of it that runs on Intel Pentium B940 2GHz processor. Other specs include 4GB RAM, upgradable to 8GB DDR3, 750GB hard disk drive, 3x USB ports (1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0), LAN, Wi-Fi b/g/n, HDMI and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
Battery life is under 2 hours, hovering between 80 to 100 minutes. So make sure you are always close to the adapter when you travel with this notebook.
Keyboard is stellar and so is its touchpad. Toshiba even squeezed in a dedicated keyboard to let you crunch numbers easily. It comes with a blu-ray drive.
It runs 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium, and thus utilizes all 4GB. Both hard disk and RAM can be swapped by unscrewing few screws from the bottom.
Performance-wise, T551 is same as Fujitsu AH52, reviewed just few days back.
